Chelsea and Hyundai launch videos to give your football skills the Home Advantage

⚽ Introducing Hyundai FC Home Advantage – a new football skills series

Chelsea’s global automotive partner Hyundai Motor UK has teamed up with the football club to launch Hyundai FC Home Advantage; a new content series to engage with budding footballers during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

With social distancing measures in place following the coronavirus outbreak, people have been asked to follow government guidelines and stay home to help control the virus.

This has meant Hyundai FC, our nationwide grassroots football programme for junior teams, has been put on hold. However, with the support of the Chelsea Foundation and players from our men’s and women’s teams, we are now bringing Hyundai FC to homes across the country, as we introduce Hyundai FC Home Advantage.

Each week a new video will be posted online and via the club’s social media channels featuring Chelsea players introducing their favourite drill or skill and Chelsea Foundation coaches providing tips, challenges and examples for children to practice at home. All drills are designed to do at home and can be done using football equipment or household items. Families are encouraged the share their attempts and training videos using #Hyundai FC, with a few prizes up for grabs too.

The first video, which can be watched above, features Christian Pulisic and Michy Batshuayi and is all about how to improve your dribbling skills.
 

Chelsea Foundation international development manager Ian Woodroffe said: ‘We know how challenging it can be for parents to keep their kids engaged during the lockdown and equally how eager children are to keep up to speed with their football skills when they’re unable to practise with their friends.

‘The Hyundai FC Home Advantage content series brings Chelsea’s world-class Foundation coaches to parents and children up and down the country, meaning when the time comes to get back on the football pitch, you’ll be sure to have the advantage over your opposition.’

Hyundai Motor UK’s managing director Ashley Andrew said: ‘Through Hyundai FC we have delivered unique footballing experiences to over 200 grassroots players across the UK. With everyone staying at home we wanted to make sure that both our Hyundai FC teams and grassroots players across the country can keep practising and improving their game at home. We hope players and families enjoy the sessions crafted by the Chelsea players and coaches and are able to put them to good use during this time at home.’
