A quarter-final defeat for our Chelsea representative in the latest FIFA 20 tournament...

Chelsea’s run in the latest ePremier League tournament has come to an end at the quarter-final stage after Emerson was knocked out by Norwich City’s Max Aarons in a battle of the attacking full-backs.

The Italian international had beaten Watford striker Andre Gray earlier in the week but was unable to repeat the trick when faced with the Canaries’ youngster today.

After a tight first half without any goals, Aarons came out firing after the restart and eventually won the game 3-1, with Emerson only able to score a consolation late on with Olivier Giroud.

However, the 25-year-old’s performance was a little better than Reece James managed in the maiden ePremier League tournament last month when the defender was beaten 8-0 by Everton’s Andre Gomes.

Prize money from the tournament is being donated to the #PlayersTogether initiative, a contribution fund set up by Premier League players through which they can channel their own donations into the NHS frontline by partnering with an NHS charity umbrella organisation.

Supporters can follow the semi-finals and final live on Sky Sports this weekend. The final four are Aarons, James Maddison of Leicester, Aston Villa’s Keinan Davis and Sheffield United defender John Egan.
