Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic the Chelsea Foundation has been at the forefront of providing help and support to our communities. Foundation staff have been helping teachers by providing virtual lessons for children of key workers who remain at school as well as a daily series of workbooks for pupils stuck at home throughout the outbreak.

We also launched a ‘healthy mind healthy body’ programme for Mental Health Awareness Week, handing out 500 activity and exercise packs as well as mental health workbooks to promote wellbeing in these difficult times.

We have been supporting the elderly and vulnerable by providing exercise packs for pensioners and families as well as online exercise classes to boost physical fitness and online chats to combat social isolation. The Foundation has also provided IT equipment to allow online session to be delivered to isolated groups.

The Foundation also provided free virtual soccer schools for more than 10,000 players as well as a range of skills sessions to encourage young people to remain active during the lockdown.

Alongside our colleagues at Levys, The Foundation have helped coordinate the delivery of over 80,000 free meals to NHS staff and pensioner groups in our local communities. Staff have also been volunteering at local foodbanks and distributing vital supplies throughout our regions.
