Ampadu returns to training

RB Leipzig’s official website has revealed Ethan Ampadu is back on the training pitch for the first time since he was sidelined by a back problem in February.

The Wales international, who was sent on loan to the German club last summer, has not been seen in action since his excellent display in Leipzig’s 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on 19 February.

However, in a training ground update, the Bundesliga side said the 19-year-old is gradually working his way back from injury.

‘Ethan Ampadu is also back on the pitch and is slowly being integrated into the training program after his back problems,’ stated the report.

‘Our defensive player is currently training individually.’

Chelsea in top-three of UK’s favourite clubs

The Daily Mail reports Chelsea are the third most-liked club in the United Kingdom, ahead of the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Citing the FootballIndex tracker poll produced by YouGov Sport, the paper reports that only Liverpool and Manchester United have more fans in the country than the Blues.

Chelsea received 3.1 per cent of the votes in the poll while City and Arsenal had two per cent each. And Tottenham garnered 1.8 per cent.

‘The study apparently took in 16 different metrics, tracking the opinions of the public every day,’ stated the report.

‘These metrics include the public's perceptions of clubs' management, players and coaches, fan culture, tradition and their record of success - even the attractiveness of their football.’

Pasalic reportedly completes Atalanta move

According to the Daily Express, Mario Pasalic has completed a permanent move to Atalanta after spending the past two seasons on loan at the Serie A side

The Croatian midfielder was signed by Chelsea from Hajduk Split in 2014 but after a number of loan spells, he appears to have settled permanently at the Bergamo club.

‘The 25-year-old has been catching the eye with Atalanta and has played a key role in their run to the Champions League quarter-finals this season,’ states the report.

‘The Italian outfit have now decided to activate their €15m (£13.4m) option to buy Pasalic, according to reports from Italy.

‘Journalist Nicolo Schira claims the deal has been confirmed with a five-year contract being signed. Gazzetta dello Sport report that all of the details remain the same as originally agreed when the loan move was finalised, with Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi unable to wrangle a discount from Marina Granovskaia.

‘They claim the new deal will see Pasalic earn around €4.8m - a significant outlay for a side such as Atalanta.’
