Chelsea FC Women forward Ramona Bachmann has today completed a transfer to French side Paris Saint-Germain.

The 29-year-old, who joined from German outfit VfL Wolfsburg in January 2017, leaves after three-and-a-half-years at the club.

During her time with the Blues, Bachmann made 88 appearances and scored 19 goals, including a brace in the 2018 Women’s FA Cup Final win against Arsenal.

The Switzerland international marked her debut for the club against Doncaster with a goal before producing two exceptional efforts against Sunderland in the Women’s FA Cup quarter-final, and another strike in the a victory over Yeovil to make it four goals in her first three matches.

Bachmann eventually finished with six strikes from seven starts and four substitute appearances when we lifted the 2017 Spring Series.

During her first full season at Chelsea, Bachmann quickly built an on-pitch understanding with fellow forward Fran Kirby which caused plenty of opposition defences countless problems throughout our 2017/18 Double-winning campaign.

She netted a vital goal against former club Rosengard in the Champions League, before ending the season with a brace in front of 45,000 supporters at Wembley Stadium as the Blues picked up the FA Cup to go alongside the Women’s Super League trophy.

During her final season for Emma Hayes’ side, Bachmann made 19 appearances, netting her final goal for the Blues in our 8-0 thrashing against West Ham at Kingsmeadow in February.

Hayes said on Bachmann’s departure: ‘Ramona has been an important player of our journey for the past three seasons and will always be part of the history books of this club after scoring twice at Wembley in the 2018 FA Cup final.

‘I wish Ramona all the best for her new challenge at PSG and thank her for her hard work and commitment during her time at Chelsea.’

Chelsea would like to thank Ramona for her service during her time with the club and wish her every success for the future.
