Terry’s reaction to Zouma tackle gets big reaction

According to the Scottish Sun, John Terry’s comment to a social media post on Kurt Zouma's crucial tackle against Crystal Palace on Tuesday has got a huge reaction from Chelsea fans.

The French defender helped preserve our 3-2 lead at Selhurst Park when he made a potential goal-saving challenge on Christian Benteke deep into stoppage time.

And Terry, who is now Aston Villa’s assistant manager, made his feelings known when he liked an image of the tackle on Chelsea’s Instagram account and replied: ‘What a tackle @KurtZouma.’

The reply received over 11,000 likes with some Blues fans indicating their appreciation for the Chelsea legend

‘Reminiscing your Chelsea days Mr Legend,’ stated one fan.

‘Learnt from the legend himself,’ wrote another.

‘He did what JT would do,’ said one more.

Schurrle to return to west London?

Former Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle looks set to leave Borussia Dortmund on a permanent basis this summer with the Sun reporting he could return to west London to join Fulham or Brentford.

Schurrle left Stamford Bridge to join Wolfsburg in 2015 before moving on to Dortmund a year later. However, the 29-year-old has spent the past two seasons on loan at Fulham and Spartak Moscow and does not appear to be in the German club’s plans for next season.

‘The ex-Chelsea winger has failed to live up to expectations at the Bundesliga side and they now reportedly want just £2million for him - £25m less than the £27m they paid Wolfsburg for his services,’ states the report.

‘The German league runners-up are eager to get him off their payroll, with the winger on an eye-watering £6m-a-year.

‘Italian minnows Benevento have just been promoted to Serie A and have already been linked with the 57-cap German international. But they would struggle to afford his salary - whereas a smaller Premier League club may be tempted to take a chance on him.

‘Schurrle could yet make a second return to West London, with both Fulham and Brentford vying for a place in next season's top flight.’

Cahill expected to miss rest of season

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has told TalkSport he expects to be without Gary Cahill for the rest of the current Premier League campaign after the former Chelsea centre-back suffered a hamstring injury in their 3-2 loss to the Blues on Tuesday.

Our former captain had to be helped off the pitch at Selhurst Park after he went down with the injury early on in the match.

Hodgson indicated the 34-year-old will be undergoing further examination on the injury but does not hold out much hope the defender will be back for Palace’s last four games of the season.

‘It is a hamstring injury. He felt his hamstring give way,’ Hodgson said.

‘He will be assessed and receive a scan. I would be very surprised if there is not a tear in the muscle.

‘I would be even more surprised – with such a short period of time to play the season – if he gets back to be a part of the four matches we have left.’
