Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic's fine performances in their debut Premier League campaign have earned them a nomination for the inaugural Young Player of the Season award.

The Chelsea duo are on an eight-man shortlist for the prize, which is new for 2019/20, and goes to the best-performing player who was aged 23 or younger at the start of the season. You can vote for either Mount or Pulisic to win below, with choices from a panel of experts also helping decide the winner.

Nobody made more Premier League appearances for us this season than 21-year-old Mount (37), who scored seven goals and registered five assists. Off the ball, his work ethic and incessant pressing was a key component of Frank Lampard's tactical set-up, and he displayed his versitility by appearing across the midfield as well as on the flanks or behind a striker.

He marked his Stamford Bridge debut with a goal, against Leicester, and it was his free-kick on the final day at home to Wolves that set us on our way to a vital victory that secured Champions League football for next term.

Pulisic's first season as a Blue was interrupted by injury in the early months of 2020, but when he was on the pitch he was consistently electric, a constant menace drifting in off the left and troubling defences with his direct running, speed and skill in possession. He announced himself with a perfect hat-trick at Burnley in October, and followed that treble up with goals against Watford and Crystal Palace

The American, also 21, hit top form after the restart, netting against Aston Villa, Manchester City, Crystal Palace and Liverpool, with those strikes against the league's top two especially catching the eye. He also provided four assists across an exciting maiden campaign at Stamford Bridge.

The other players on the shortlist are: Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jack Grealish, Dean Henderson and Anthony Martial.

Voting closes at 6pm UK time on Monday 10 August, with votes submitted on the TAG Heuer website.
