Bundesliga side express interest in Gallagher

A report in Germany suggests newly promoted Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld are interested in signing Conor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea for the upcoming season, insidefutbol.com reports.

After impressing on loan at Championship sides Charlton Athletic and Swansea City last season, the Chelsea Academy product is looking to make the next step in his career and had been linked with loan moves to a number of clubs including Crystal Palace, Newcastle and West Ham United.

However, there also appears to be interest from abroad in the England Under-21 international midfielder.

‘The 20-year-old central midfielder has been linked with Leeds, amongst with a host of other clubs, but now the Whites face strong competition from Germany for his signature,’ states the report.

‘Arminia Bielefeld, who won promotion to the Bundesliga this season, are in talks to sign him on loan from Chelsea, according to German magazine Kicker.

‘The German side are admirers of Gallagher and want to add him to their squad this summer.’

Heracles welcome Havertz as new ‘signing‘

Dutch side Heracles Almelo have taken advantage of a sarcastic quip by Bayer Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz to jokingly announce they have signed Kai Havertz, TalkSport reports.

The 21-year-old, who is one of the most highly-rated young attacking players in European football, has been heavily linked in recent reports with a summer move to Chelsea.

But when asked about a potential move for his young star after Leverkusen had been eliminated in the Europa League quarter-finals on Monday, Bosz responded in an unusual manner.

‘Yes, I can exclusively announce he’ll play for Heracles Almelo!’ quipped the Dutchman, referencing the Eredivisie side which he previously coached.

Heracles didn’t waste any time ‘confirming’ the exclusive transfer news, posting a photoshopped image of Havertz in one of their kits on Twitter with the caption ‘Welkom Kai’ and the hashtag ‘#AnnounceHavertz’

Sturridge wants Premier League return

Former Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge has told Sky Sports that he wants to return to the Premier League as he has 'unfinished business'.

Sturridge has been out of the game since leaving Turkish side Trabzonspor in March after being handed a four-month ban for breaching the FA's gambling regulations.

However, he has maintained his training schedule in Los Angeles during the past few months and is determined to make his mark once more in England.

‘We have options around the world but I'm an English player and I've always loved playing in the Premier League,’ said the 31-year-old.

‘I believe I've got a lot to give to the Premier League and I would say that's my first choice. I do feel I have unfinished business so I would like to go back and play there.

‘I'm open to playing in other leagues, it's not just the Premier League I'm going to consider, but to come back to England and give my best would be a huge option for me.

‘I'm very excited, I'm hungrier than ever and I'm totally focused on the next chapter.’
