The Blues are currently enjoying some well-earned rest time before preparations begin in earnest for the new season and what better way to switch off than to get lost in a good boxset...

After a tightly-packed schedule of games in what has been our longest-ever football season, the Chelsea players can now take some time out to put their feet up before we do it all again in September.

One of the many ways the players like to relax is to watch some TV, and Ross Barkley is the latest player to offer us some tips for good viewing. Be warned though, the following recommendations should certainly be enjoyed post-watershed!

Gomorrah (series)

‘I’m up to date now. This is an Italian series and it's really good!'

Our number eight’s first recommendation is indeed an Italian drama, which takes us inside a fierce Neapolitan crime organization. It has all the twists, turns, drugs and violence you’d expect from a highly-rated series described in the media as the ‘unmissable, ultimate mafia show.’

Gangs of London (series)

‘I’m just watching this series now, I’m getting through a few at a time!’

We’re back home to London for Ross’s second recommendation, which is available to watch on Sky Atlantic.

The City of London is being torn apart by the turbulent power struggles of the international gangs that control it and the sudden power vacuum that's created when the head of London's most powerful crime family is assassinated. The series stars Joe Cole - the one from Peaky Blinders as opposed to Chelsea fame!

Snowfall (series)

‘This based in Los Angeles. I realise all my recommendations have been gang series...'

Finally, it’s another drama for recommendation number three, and this one has undertones of Breaking Bad as a crime family tries to make money selling cocaine in Los Angeles during what was a budding drug epidemic in the ‘80s. Meanwhile, a CIA operative looks to get in on the action.

Need more recommendations? Check out the choices of Olivier Giroud, Toni Rudiger, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Willian, Fikayo Tomori, Kurt Zouma, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Jorginho, Emerson Palmieri, Billy Gilmour and Ashley Cole!
