Like our development squad, the under-18s have been back at Cobham since the start of August and this weekend welcomed AFC Bournemouth for their first pre-season friendly against outside opposition.

After an early goal for the Blues, Charlie Webster scored his first of the afternoon courtesy of a tap-in from close range and Dion Rankine added a third just before the half-time break. Webster was on the scoresheet again after the interval, this time finding the net from the penalty spot before Jude Soonsup-Bell wrapped up the scoring for Chelsea at 5-0. Two late goals for the visitors were no more than consolations.

Meanwhile, the development squad were also in friendly action. Goals from Tariq Uwakwe, Jon Russell and Marcel Lewis saw off Crystal Palace at Cobham.
