Hasselbaink on Werner and Ziyech

According to the Evening Standard, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink feels Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech will need time to adjust to the Premier League but believes both of them will make an impact for the Blues once they find their feet.

While Werner scored 34 goals in 45 games in his final season at RB Leipzig, the former Chelsea striker thinks the Germany international will take a while to find his feet in England.

‘German football is totally different to the English game so it will be difficult for Werner to settle straight in,’ said the Dutchman.

‘We know he's a talented player. We know what he can do and Chelsea need a player that can score goals. But, we also need to give him the time. If you look at [Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang when he came, he needed six months. So, give him those six months as well.’

In the case of Ziyech, Hasselbaink said the Morocco international will have to cope with the greater physical demands of playing in the Premier League.

‘Physically, he’ll possibly have a problem in the beginning, so he has to be smarter with his physical ability,’ he added.

‘But he is a silky, beautiful player and something that Chelsea don’t have – a midfielder with a left foot who can bring something different.’

Mount turns table on Rice

In an interview with sportsbible.com, Mason Mount has revealed how he foiled an attempt by Declan Rice to avenge a famous prank played on him by the Chelsea midfielder during their summer holiday last year.

The video of Mount waking Rice from a nap with a huge scare went viral when it was shared on social media. And while the West Ham player tried to get payback on his good friend during international duty, it appears he has yet to succeed.

‘I see Dec a lot and he hasn't gotten me back yet. He's tried,’ said Mount.

‘A couple of camps ago he came to my room and I went to the toilet. I could hear banging and was thinking, “What's he doing in there? He's up to something.”

‘Then, I came out of the toilet and he was nowhere to be seen... but I could see his toes hanging out from under the bed.

‘He didn't know I'd seen him, so I went to the other side of the bed and his head was just there. I probably scared him more than he was going to scare me.’

Richards compares Blues to superhero group

Christian Pulisic may have been nicknamed ‘Captain America’ but former England international Micah Richards believes there may be more superheroes in our midst at Chelsea.

Speaking in a video interview for Football Daily, the ex-Manchester City defender revealed how impressed he was with the Blues’ pre-season recruitment of players, likening Frank Lampard’s side to a group of Marvel Comics heroes.

‘Chelsea are improving their squad. They look like The Avengers at the moment, don’t’ they?’ he said.

‘Every time you look at them, they’ve got a new signing!’
