This season we’re giving Blues fans the chance to test their knowledge and make match predictions in our new Play Predictor game on The 5th Stand app.

Ahead of our opening 2020/21 fixture against Brighton, Capital FM presenter and DJ Humes has had his say and entered his predictions to compete against his fellow fans, anticipating a big opening day win for the Blues and an early first goal from our new German striker.

He said: ‘It will be 3-0 to Chelsea, it’s the first game back and everyone’s going to be bang up for it!

‘The first goalscorer will be Timo Werner. He’s been looking sharp in pre-season and for Germany too. I think he’ll get a brace, and both his goals will be in the first half!’

He’s backed up that claim by predicting the first goal will come as early as the 12th minute, although to be fair it took Werner just four minutes to open the scoring in our friendly against the Seagulls two weeks ago, so he might be on to something! You can see the rest of his predictions below:
