Andy Myers’ side have won their opening two fixtures in PL2 over West Ham and Southampton respectively – and the team are back on the South Coast tomorrow hoping to make it three-from-three. Single camera coverage will be provided for free on the 5th Stand app and this website.

After Friday’s 1-4 win over Southampton development squad, assistant Jon Harley spoke about how proud the coaching staff were of the team’s positive start but believes there is more to come from the young team.

In other Academy news there has been changes to some of our fixtures. This weekend’s Under-18 Premier League fixture against Southampton will kick-off at 10.30am, half-an-hour earlier than planned.

In the EFL Trophy our development squad's visit to Walsall on Tuesday 29 September will now kick-off at 7pm as opposed to the original time of 7.30pm.

Our PL2 game against London rivals Arsenal, originally scheduled for Saturday 3 October, has been pushed back one day and will now take place on Sunday 4 October, 12 noon kick-off at Kingsmeadow.

Chelsea has agreed the signing of young forward Aleksi Heino who put pen-to-paper on a two-year scholarship at the club earlier today. The 16-year-old is a Finland youth international team mate of fellow Under-18 Jimi Tauriainen. He joins his countryman in Ed Brand's youth team for the 2020/21 season. The deal is subject to international clearance.
