After officially becoming a Chelsea player on Thursday, Mendy got straight to work with a solo session at our Surrey headquarters. Petr Cech was on hand to greet the Senegalese international out onto the pitches before the new boy got his gloves warm on a blustery day at Cobham.

Frank Lampard reported earlier on Friday that the 28-year-old would not be in contention to start against West Brom this weekend so the focus for now is on getting up to speed before he's expected to join the group next week.
