Last time out

Last Saturday’s clash against Derby County was full of action as Andy Myers’s men ran out 3-2 winners following a flurry of second-half goals. Tino Anjorin opened the scoring but we were soon behind after a quick-fire Derby double.

Forward Bryan Fiabema was then introduced for the final 20 minutes and bagged a late brace to clinch the win and send the young Blues top of the early Premier League 2 standings.

The opposition

We took four points from Liverpool last season, Michy Batshuayi notching a brace and Tino Anjorin also finding the net to seal a three-goal win at Stamford Bridge in August. While the return fixture in December needed a Henry Lawrence wonder strike to rescue a point at Liverpool's Kirkby Academy complex, the young Blues will hope to follow Saturday's dramatic win with maximum points on Merseyside this weekend.

This term Liverpool have had some mixed results, winning and losing two games each in the opening four PL2 outings. Their standout game came in an eight-goal encounter against Manchester United, which the Merseyside team won 3-5, meanwhile their most recent fixture ended in defeat to a solitary Brighton & Hove Albion goal last weekend.
