Emma Hayes’ Blues are next in action on Tuesday 3 November when we take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Continental League Cup and the game will be shown live on various official Chelsea platforms free of charge.
The club recognises our fans cannot be at Kingsmeadow to support the Blues due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions nationwide. Therefore, we have made the decision to stream our next Conti Cup group stage match against Tottenham Hotspur on The 5th Stand app, the Chelsea website, Chelsea FC Women’s Facebook page and our official YouTube channel, bringing you all the action direct to your home.
This Group B match, which has a kick-off of 7pm, will be our first game back in action following the international break and Hayes’ side will be looking to pick up three points against London neighbours Spurs.
Chelsea began our Conti Cup defence with an impressive 4-1 triumph against last season’s finalists Arsenal.
This London derby did not disappoint with four goals coming inside the first quarter of an hour at our KT1 home. Skipper Magdalena Eriksson netted the opener only six minutes into the encounter with a powerful header. The Gunners pulled one back two minutes later but Chelsea went into the break ahead thanks to a Guro Reiten brace. Bethany England rounded off the scoring in the final minutes of the contest when she stormed in to fire home her 50th Chelsea goal.
Our final group match is away to Championship side London City Lionesses and this game will be played on Wednesday 18 November with a 7.30pm kick-off.
The format of the competition has been adjusted slightly from previous season’s, with the tournament increased from four groups to six. Should Chelsea finish top of the group or as one of two best runners-up, we will progress to the quarter-final stage.
