There were plenty of goals on the pitch for Chelsea and plenty of points off it for Blues fans on Play Predictor on Wednesday thanks to our 4-0 victory over Krasnodar.

It was certainly a Champions League evening that rewarded confidence for Chelsea fans, as those predicting a dominant win scored massive points. Impressively 22 per cent out of more than 56,000 supporters taking part in Play Predictor for this game saw the 4-0 win coming, with only 3-0 proving to be a more popular choice.

There was clearly a lot of faith in our defence in Russia too, following the back-to-back clean sheets against Sevilla and Manchester United, as a huge 79 per cent of fans correctly predicted that Edouard Mendy would remain unbeaten in the Chelsea goal for a third consecutive match.

However, with both our last two fixtures ending in 0-0 draws, plenty of credit certainly goes to all those fans who predicted the emphatic winning margin in Russia.

Another factor in the high-scoring evening on Play Predictor was how our goals were shared around among four different players. The maximum 20 points went to the 1,459 people who correctly predicted that Callum Hudson-Odoi would get our first goal, no mean feat considering the young winger had never scored in the Champions League before the trip to Russia.

There were also an impressive 2,574 people who got the five points for picking Hakim Ziyech to score on his full debut for Chelsea, while the fact the two most picked scorers Timo Werner (42 per cent) and Christian Pulisic (22 per cent) found the net helped there be smiles all around on Play Predictor.

That high-scoring day has left the monthly leaderboard finely balanced at the top with just one game remaining before October’s winner is crowned, receiving the monthly prize of a signed merchandise bundle and £500 Megastore voucher.

With only 20 points separating the top 45 places in the October leaderboard, make sure you go to Play Predictor and get your predictions in for our last match of the month against Burnley before the deadline of 2pm on Saturday 31 October. Score big against the Clarets and it could be your name at the top of the table at the end of the month.
