The latest cohort of students on our degree programmes in partnership with St Mary’s University recently enjoyed an interactive webinar with England Rugby head coach Eddie Jones.
Chelsea Foundation are now heading into our fifth year in partnership with St Mary’s, through which the Chelsea FC Foundation Degrees in Football Coaching and Development are delivered.
Students enrolled onto the programme in September and as part of their induction, they were treated to the opportunity to hear from Eddie Jones.
Jones, who has been the head coach at England Rugby since 2015, joined the students on an interactive webinar and spoke to them about dealing with adversity in coaching.
Second year student, Dan O’Donoghue, who joined the webinar said: ‘The conference with Eddie gave a real insight into the different areas us, as coaches can positively influence amongst a team or an individual.
‘Great examples were given which we can then apply to our own coaching development moving forward and use in real-life situations.’
Chelsea Foundation project officer Adrian Salisbury added: ‘Although the programme is primarily focused around coaching in a football context, it was great for students to hear from such a high-profile coach from another field and identify the various similarities and differences.
‘Eddie spoke brilliantly and was really insightful during the Q&A session that followed his presentation.’
