There was a welcome return to training for Billy Gilmour at Cobham today, as the young midfielder returned to action following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The Scot underwent knee surgery earlier this summer after picking up the injury against Crystal Palace during the restart but is now fully recovered and able to resume training with the squad, as he did today on a very autumnal afternoon at our training base.

While Billy remains a way off being considered for match action, the rest of the players were put through their paces by Frank Lampard and his coaching staff ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash with Burnley.

Hakim Ziyech, who impressed immensely on his first Chelsea start in midweek, will hope to be involved at Turf Moor, while fellow goalscorers against Krasnodar – Callum Hudson-Odoi, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic – were all involved at Cobham today.

Our head coach has reported a fully-fit squad to choose from against the Clarets, with Kepa Arrizabalaga over the shoulder injury that has kept him sidelined in recent weeks.
