The third and final international break of a convoluted year is upon us with a busy schedule planned. Here we outline the possible Chelsea involvement over the coming days.

In Europe, qualifying for next summer’s rescheduled European Championships concludes, although for our players the competitive focus will be on UEFA Nations League fixtures with the hard work for Euro 2021 already done.

Elsewhere, the delayed Africa Cup of Nations group stage qualifying process begins with a double-header, while in South America the quest to reach the 2022 World Cup continues for Thiago Silva and Brazil.

With a smattering of friendlies too and some action at youth level, it promises to be a be an eventful week or so for those Blues on international duty…

UEFA Nations League and friendlies

Albania: Armando Broja – friendly at home to Kosovo on Wednesday, Nations League fixtures at home to Kazakhstan on Sunday and Belarus next Wednesday.

Belgium: Michy Batshuayi – friendly at home to Switzerland on Wednesday, Nations League fixtures at home to England on Sunday and Denmark next Wednesday.

Croatia: Mateo Kovacic – friendly away to Turkey on Wednesday, Nations League fixtures away to Sweden on Saturday and at home to Portugal next Tuesday.

Denmark: Andreas Christensen – friendly at home to Sweden on Wednesday, Nations League fixtures at home to Iceland on Sunday and away to Belgium next Wednesday.

There remains some uncertainty around Denmark’s squad because of a travel ban to the UK that is currently in place. The issue might also affect Iceland’s game in England because they will have just been in Denmark.

England: Tammy Abraham, Ben Chilwell, Reece James and Mason Mount – friendly at home to Ireland on Thursday, Nations League fixtures away to Belgium on Sunday and at home to Iceland next Wednesday. Reece James is suspended for the two Nations League fixtures.

France: Olivier Giroud, N’Golo Kante and Kurt Zouma – friendly at home to Finland on Wednesday, Nations League fixtures away to Portugal on Saturday and at home to Sweden next Tuesday.

Germany: Toni Rudiger and Timo Werner – friendly at home to Czech Republic on Wednesday, Nations League fixtures at home to Ukraine on Saturday and away to Spain next Tuesday.
