Fabregas on Ziyech’s creativity

Talking to 90mins, Fabregas revealed his admiration for the Moroccan and his ability to make chances for his team-mates like he did for 13 seasons in England.

‘He is a very good player,’ the Spaniard said. ’He has this vision that you need in a top team like Chelsea, who want to win and be champions.

‘With Ziyech, you can see that he has this last pass. It’s not only that he sees it, it’s that he makes it right, at the right time. That’s the decision-making that we talk about nowadays.’

Ziyech has been lauded for the left-footed crosses he puts into dangerous areas. Since his arrival, he has added a different attacking threat for the Blues to use against the low-block defensive lines. His disguised passes and deep crosses surprise defences.

‘He makes things happen when the defenders don’t expect,’ Fabregas said.‘They don’t expect the pass, you catch them sleeping and you have someone like Timo Werner making great runs in behind. I think this is where Chelsea could be so powerful this year.'

Gallagher keen to make an impact

Gallagher impressed many with his displays on loan at Charlton Athletic and Swansea but now he is getting experience in the Premier League with the Baggies.Speaking after England Under-21s' 3-1 win against Albania, the 20-year-old gave an update on his development and how he is coping with the standards of the Premier League to goal.com.

‘I will always give 100 per cent, no matter what. Whether it is with West Brom or Chelsea, I will always give my best for the team,’ Gallagher said.

Gallagher featured in a highly competitive England U21 team and is hoping he can get more minutes with West Brom to impress his Chelsea boss.

‘I’m just happy to be playing in the Premier League. I’m very happy at West Brom and excited to play more games,’ he said.

‘I have started well at West Brom even though results haven’t gone our way, so I just need to keep that going and stay consistent. Hopefully, the results there will then improve.’

Gallagher will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori who had to go on loan first in order to feature regularly in the Chelsea line-up. He acknowledges Frank Lampard is watching and keeping tabs.

‘I believe so, as people know he is a great manager even though I am not at the club. I know the guys are watching and hoping I do well.'
