The draw for the last 32 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League takes place tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11am UK time, with Emma Hayes’ side set to find out our first opponents in this year’s competition.

Chelsea are one of the 16 seeded teams in the draw and as such we will be playing the second leg of our last-32 tie at home, with that game scheduled to take place on 15/16 December. The first leg is due to be played a week earlier, on 9/10 December.

Having been crowned the 2019/20 Barclays FA Women’s Super League champions, the Blues return to the European stage after one season away from the competition. The last time we participated in the Champions League was in the 2018/19 season when we exited the competition to the five-time winners and current holders Lyon, at the semi-final stage when the scoreline finished 3-2 on aggregate.

This year UEFA has formed four groups of eight teams for the draw and all clubs in the groups have been ordered randomly and identified by a number: 1 to 4 for the seeded teams and 5 to 8 for the unseeded teams. The Blues are in Group 4 and could face Sparta Praha, Ajax, Benfica or Servette.
