Kai Havertz and Thiago Silva were both involved in today’s training session at Cobham, before taking their places on the team flight to France ahead of our Champions League clash with Rennes.
The duo both missed the weekend win over Newcastle but Frank Lampard has confirmed that they will both be part of the squad that travels across the English Channel to take on the Ligue 1 side.
Christian Pulisic won’t travel, as he continues to build up fitness, but it was great to see him involved in today’s session with the group. Lampard has said he hopes the American can be in contention to feature against Tottenham on Sunday.
Edouard Mendy is expected to start in goal against his former employers, while Callum Hudson-Odoi, Emerson and Olivier Giroud will all hope to feature after coming on as substitutes at St James’ Park on Saturday.
