Blues in for Dybala

According to 90mins, Paulo Dybala has been offered to several Premier League clubs including Chelsea.

It is believed that Dybala sees this as the perfect opportunity to make the switch to England after the Argentine rejected a move in 2019.

The Juventus forward fought himself back into the line-up of former Blues manager Maurizio Sarri but has once again found himself on the bench since the arrival of Andrea Pirlo.

Chelsea, alongside Manchester United and Liverpool, are all keeping their eyes on the situation and will be ready to swoop in as soon as the opportunity arises.

At 27, Dybala would bring plenty of experience into this fresh Chelsea side. He has won five Serie A titles, three Italian Cups and was also named Player of the Year at Juventus last season.

The Argentine has 18 months left on his contract and even though there were talks of an extension earlier in the season, this now seems highly unlikely.

Hasselbaink discusses Giroud’s influence

Former Blues striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes Olivier Giroud is one of the most underrated strikers and offers more than just goals.

Speaking to Premier League Productions and repeated in goal.com, Hasselbaink outlined how important the Frenchman is to this Chelsea side.

‘He has been doing other things well, making other people play better and letting others score more goals,’ Hasselbaink said.

‘When you have a successful team, we always look at the striker scoring 30 goals, but he is not that kind of person.’

Giroud is on fine form despite having to be patient for playing time. He netted four in last week’s Champions League game against Sevilla and also was on target against Leeds at the weekend. His ability to hold the ball up for the other attackers also does not go unnoticed.

‘I don’t think he is that kind of player who should be judged on how many goals he scores. We all have our strengths and I think that is his strength, making others play better.’

Gimenez drops Chelsea hint

Atletico Madrid centre-back Jose Gimenez has increased speculation of a potential move to Stamford Bridge after fans spotted his recent Twitter activity.

Gimenez liked a tweet that said ‘Day 44 of tweeting Jose Maria Gimenez until Chelsea signs him’ which made Blues fans believe a move to Stamford Bridge is imminent.

This is not the first time a player linked to the club has liked a tweet from Chelsea fans. While at Bayer Leverkusen, Kai Havertz also liked an ‘Announce Havertz’ tweet on Twitter before joining the club.

Uruguayan international Gimenez has been very vocal about his love for Chelsea and also stated he would’ve loved to play with head coach Frank Lampard.

The 27-year-old’s contract with Atletico runs until 2023 and with the amount of experience he has under one of the most defensively organised managers in Europe, he could be a great addition to this Blues side.
