Blues to go big for Haaland

Chelsea have been linked with Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland this summer.

According to The Athletic, the Blues are determined to go all out for the Norwegian talisman even though his release clause of £66 million doesn’t come into effect until 2022.

The report states that Chelsea feel this could be the best opportunity to sign Haaland as other teams will be more reluctant to spend due to Covid-19 having an impact on club finances.

Haaland is in high demand with Real Madrid and the Manchester clubs wanting his signature. The 20-year-old has 35 goals in 35 appearances for Dortmund which explains why he’s the hottest prospect in Europe.

The Blues are preparing for the future and see Haaland as the type of target man that can increase the chances of winning the Premier League and the Champions League.

The 2020 Golden Boy winner made history last season when he became the only player in the Champions League to score six goals in their first three games.

Hudson-Odoi to push for Euros

Callum Hudson-Odoi is prepared to fight for a spot in England’s Euro 2020 squad and will continue to work to get Gareth Southgate to pick him.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the winger revealed that the upcoming Euros were always on his mind as he continues to show good form.

‘I want to get back in the squad and go with them to the tournament,’ he said. ‘You take it game by game and day by day.’

The 20-year-old has played for England since Under-16s and is looking to add to his three senior caps soon.

‘You’ve just got to keep doing what you’ve been doing and keep improving. But yes, the Euros are on my mind.’

Hudson-Odoi has been very productive this season, proving to be dangerous whenever on the pitch for the Blues.

So far this season, he has five goals and two assists in 15 games. On current form, he has every right to look at himself for the national team and he still thinks there's a lot of work to be done.

‘You have to use every opportunity,’ he said. ‘If I play the whole game or just at the end, you’ve got to show what you can do and have that belief in yourself.

‘For me, I just want to make the squad but I’m taking it game by game.’

Torres starts as a coach

Former Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has begun his first steps to becoming a manager as he has started coaching Atletico Madrid’s B team.

After retiring in 2019, Marca have reported that Torres returned to Spain and took on a coaching job with his former club Atletico.

The report states that since Torres joined Ricky Alonso’s coaching staff, many of the players have been impressed by the 2010 World Cup winner’s training sessions and he has reportedly also been taking part in the drills.

The former Liverpool striker has a lot to offer in an academy that is responsible for many of Spain’s talents like David De Gea and Koke.

Torres also played under managers who have won plenty of trophies like Vicente Del Bosque and former Chelsea managers Rafa Benitez and Jose Mourinho.

The Spanish striker played 172 games for the Blues netting 45 times and getting 35 assists. He was also part of the Blues side which won the Champions League in 2011/12 and the Europa League the following season.
