Chelsea Women will be looking to continue our good start to the New Year when we travel to the Midlands this evening to face Women’s Super League newcomers Aston Villa. The Blues have been in scintillating form in January, securing victories against Reading, Manchester United and Manchester City and Leupolz has set her sights on another three points against Villa. She said: ‘We are looking forward to the game a lot. We are currently on a good run and we have been performing really well.‘Every player loves to play and loves to train and we are very much looking forward to the game.‘Villa will try everything, they have nothing to lose and we are expecting a hard game.’

Chelsea have netted an impressive 11 goals in our previous three outings, while conceding only three and Leupolz has highlighted the importance of being efficient in front of goal. She added: ‘We have to be really clinical against every team and make sure we show how good we are. When the season is coming to the end, it will be important that we have put those chances away.‘We have the self-confidence that when we get those chances, we will score. Every team in this league can score, they will always have a chance and we have to be prepared for that and make sure we take our chances.

Leupolz joined the club from Bayern Munich in the summer and the German International has been praised by Blues boss Emma Hayes for her recent impressive performances. The midfielder netted in our Continental League Cup quarter-final victory over Manchester City and Leupolz admits she is enjoying life at her new club.‘I feel really comfortable here, especially within my team,’ she said.‘It’s always nice, especially when you are new to the team and you know that the coach is happy with your performances.‘Of course it’s nice to hear, and also for the confidence of myself. I’m really enjoying being a part of this team and being a part of Chelsea.‘All the staff are amazing, it’s so much fun and I can’t wait to play all the games, every tournament and go as far as possible. I’m really happy.’Tonight's fixture kicks off at 7pm (a change from the original time) and you can watch Leupolz and her Blues teammates take on Aston Villa live.
