In our look at the latest Chelsea-related news stories from the media, the Blues are reportedly interested in signing both Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland in the summer and Joe Cole believes Mason Mount can become one of Chelsea’s greatest ever players.

Blues interested in Dortmund duo

Chelsea have reportedly listed Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland as two potential transfer targets this summer.

According to Sunday World, Thomas Tuchel is set to be given the necessary funds to bring in two of the most exciting attacking players in Europe.

The Blues are reportedly ready to take advantage of the transfer market with many clubs reluctant to spend during the pandemic.

Borussia Dortmund are by no means guaranteed to qualify for next season’s Champions League, meaning they may have to sell one of their stars in the summer.

Sancho was heavily linked with Manchester United in the summer, but no deal happened, while Haaland has a release clause of £75 million that comes into play in 2022.

The report also states that a double deal for the Englishman and Norwegian striker could cost up to £200 million.

Haaland has scored 27 goals in 25 matches while Sancho has netted 10 times and has 15 assists this season.

Cole believes in Mount

Joe Cole believes Mason Mount could become one of Chelsea’s greatest ever players.

Speaking on BT Sport, the former Blues star was left impressed once again by the 22-year-old’s performance in our away draw against Southampton.

Mount scored from the spot to level the score and continued to be a bright spark for Chelsea throughout the game.

‘Mason Mount is one of life’s mysteries how people could criticise him for playing so much,’ he said. ’He plays so much not because he is a great lad, which he is, but also because he is a top player.’

The midfielder has played a crucial part in Chelsea’s attack this season and has impressed the new head coach Thomas Tuchel.

‘Tuchel’s come in, he was out the team in the first game,’ added Cole. ‘Tuchel’s a clever man and realised this kid is a proper player. He epitomises what Chelsea’s all about.

‘He’ll go on to be one of the top players in Chelsea’s history, he’s that good.’

Filipe Luis praises Hazard

Former Blues left-back Filipe Luis has labelled Eden Hazard as one of the best players he has ever played with.

The Brazilian arrived from Atletico Madrid, who we face in the next round of the Champions League tomorrow evening, and won the Premier League and the League Cup in 2015 under Jose Mourinho.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, the Brazilian revealed how effortless the Belgian did his business and was always the best player on the pitch.

‘Hazard alongside Neymar are the best players I have played alongside – up there with Messi,’ he said. ‘Five minutes before the game, Hazard would be playing Mario Kart!’

In that 2015 Premier League-winning season, Hazard scored 14 goals and grabbed 10 assists and Filipe Luis saw him every day in training.

‘He would warm-up without tying his laces ups,’ he added. ‘No one could take the ball off him. He would dribble past three or four players and win games on his own.

‘Hazard has so much talent. Perhaps he lacks a little bit of ambition to say: I am going to be the best player in the world. Because he could be.’
