Following a February in which Chelsea went unbeaten in the Premier League and won at Tottenham, Thomas Tuchel has been shortlisted for the Manager of the Month award.

The German has yet to taste defeat as Blues boss, a run that has been built on bolstering the defensive ranks and a switch to three at the back. In five matches in the month, we conceded just two goals and picked up 11 of 15 points available, closing the gap to the top four in the process.

Our victory at Spurs was the most significant of the results, coming just nine days after Tuchel’s appointment at Stamford Bridge. The tactical decision to start Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi as split strikers, with Mason Mount supporting centrally, paid dividends as we beat our rivals on their own turf for the second season running.

That was followed by a hard-fought win at Sheffield United and a more comfortable home three points against Newcastle United. We ended the month with back-to-back draws with Southampton and Manchester United.

Among the other contenders for February’s award are Pep Guardiola, Nuno Espirito Santo and Scott Parker. Voting is open now and closes at 6pm on Monday 8 March. The winner will be announced four days later.
