Cole on Haaland pursuit

Joe Cole believes signing Erling Haaland would help the Blues to compete for the Premier League title.

Speaking on BT Sport, the former England international spoke about which player he thinks would make the Blues title challengers.

‘They need one player for me,’ Cole said when talking about where Chelsea can strengthen. ‘Haaland, he’s on the wish-list.

‘There’s so much in this squad, there’s quality in all areas, such a strong squad.’

There have been plenty of reports in recent months linking the Leeds-born striker with a move to Stamford Bridge. Haaland has continued to show his danger in front of goal this season scoring 31 goals in 29 appearances.

‘You need that one sparkle of magic,’ Cole continued.

‘It will change this club getting back to the glory days of challenging for the title regularly.’

Sarr opens up on loan

Malang Sarr has revealed how his loan to Porto was part of a plan to improve him as a player.

Speaking to L’Equipe, the centre-back was asked about his Chelsea move and his current loan with Portuguese giants Porto.

‘I was training with Chelsea before I got loaned,’ the 22-year-old said. ‘The loan was part of the plan.

‘I had to be honest with myself, my season ended in March and I wasn’t going to be successful right away at Chelsea.’

The Chelsea loanee has made 19 appearances for Porto so far. He was also involved in the club’s win against Juventus in the Champions League.

‘It was the perfect solution,’ Sarr added. ‘I wanted to do a season at a top club like Porto.

‘To be good and then later take a place at Chelsea.’

Brescia forward speaks about Stamford Bridge dream

Florian Aye has revealed his dream of playing for Chelsea one day.

Speaking to So Foot, the Brescia forward explained why he would love to represent the Blues in the future. He recently also made club history by becoming the first player ever to score in seven consecutive Serie B games.

‘I dream of playing for Chelsea,’ Aye admitted. ‘I would love to win a title like the Premier League or Champions League.’

Aye has been influential for the Italian side after his move from Clermont in 2019. So far this season he has scored 10 goals and picked up four assists in 26 games.

‘Sometimes, I even think about it in the middle of the day,’ Aye continued about his dream move. ‘When I was little, my father bought me Arjen Robben’s shirt.

‘I always followed Chelsea, my favourite player Didier Drogba went there, and I think that strengthened my attachment to the club.’
