Andreas Christensen’s exemplary form in March has been rewarded with a nomination for the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month award.

The Danish defender has been imperious since stepping in for the injured Thiago Silva in the heart of our back three, and in March he certainly played his part as we secured three consecutive clean sheets in the league.

Excelling with his anticipation and timing, Christensen shut down Liverpool, Everton and Leeds, earning plenty of credit from pundits and also his manager Thomas Tuchel.

‘He is brave, strong in individual challenges and very brave and intelligent in our build-up,' said Tuchel after the Liverpool triumph.

'He plays with a lot of confidence and I am absolutely happy with his performance. How he has stepped up is a big part of our performances.’

It is the 24-year-old’s first nomination for the award, which was last won by a Chelsea player in September 2018 (Eden Hazard). You can vote to help Andreas win by clicking here.

Christensen is one of eight players nominated. The others on the shortlist are:

Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City), Harry Kane (Tottenham), Jesse Lingard (West Ham United), Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City), Illan Meslier (Leeds United), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), Leandro Trossard (Brighton and Hove Albion)
