Blues eyeing Vazquez

Chelsea are reportedly interested in Lucas Vazquez.

The 29-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and according to Sport, the Blues are keeping an eye on the situation.

It is said that due to negotiations, Vazquez will not renew his contract. However, Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane wants to keep him.

The report also states that the Blues are willing to improve Vazquez’s situation and want to bring him to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

If Chelsea want to sign the player, we will face tough competition from Bayern Munich who have already reportedly tabled a four-year contract for the Spaniard.

Vazquez is a seasoned professional with plenty of experience. He has won two La Liga titles, he has won the FIFA Club World Cup three times and he is a three-time Champions League winner.

McTominay praises Hazard

Scott McTominay has labelled Eden Hazard as the toughest opponent he has faced.

Speaking to ESPN, the Manchester United midfielder praised the Belgian after his experiences playing against him.

‘Obviously, we’ll take Messi out of that because we’ve already mentioned him,’ he said when asked about his toughest opponent. ‘I’d probably say Hazard.

‘I just remember it because it was not a reality check because I played well. It was a semi-reality check.’

The Scottish international faced Hazard in 2018 before he was a regular for the Red Devils.

‘This guy, he’s sharp’ he added. ‘Especially for me, he’s little and has a low centre of gravity.

‘So, he’s tough to get to. He was super sharp and super smooth.’

Allardyce wants to keep Gallagher

Sam Allardyce wants to keep Conor Gallagher if West Bromwich Albion stay up.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Allardyce spoke about the importance of the midfielder’s development playing in a team that has tough circumstances.

‘If we stay in the Premier League, I’d hope he is here next season,’ the West Brom head coach said. ‘He’d be better off having another season with us rather than the competitive size of the Chelsea squad.

‘He’s leaning and his development level at 19 has improved. I have seen a good player since I have been here. I heard how good he was before I came.’

West Brom are 19th in the Premier League and are eight points from safety. Gallagher has played 25 times for the Baggies since his arrival on loan last September.

‘I think every day and every game he plays in the Premier League he gains more experience,’ Allardyce continued. ‘When you lose more than you win, which he is experiencing for the first time, it makes you tougher.

‘He has kept senior players out and he is only 19. His consistent level of performance has impressed me.’
