Chelsea receive Sule boost

Chelsea are reportedly looking to take advantage of Niklas Sule’s uncertain future and bring the German to Stamford Bridge.

According to The Athletic, the Blues have stepped up their interest in signing a centre-back in the summer and the Bayern Munich man could be one of the players that are brought in.

Sule has one more year left on his contract and the report states it is looking unlikely that the 25-year-old will renew his deal with the German giants.

Bayern Munich have recently been dealing with the resignation of coach Hansi Flick and the manager they bring in could influence Sule’s future.

Julian Nagelsmann is tipped to become the new Bayern coach and he and Sule spent a season together at Hoffenheim which saw the defender’s introduction into the German national team.

The Blues will be hoping the defender becomes available due to the amount of experience he can bring to the squad.

Sule is a three-time German champion and has picked up a further eight trophies at Bayern which includes last year’s Champions League.

Jorginho praises Tuchel

Jorginho has revealed how impressed he has been with the impact Thomas Tuchel has made at Chelsea so far.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Mail, the midfielder spoke highly of the German boss and how he has got the best out of the team since his arrival.

‘He has made a big impact,’ he said. ‘Straight away, he understood what he had to work with and how to get the best from us.

‘He understood what to say and what to expect from the players.’

The 29-year-old has played a very important role under Tuchel, featuring in 10 of the 12 Premier League games the head coach has been in charge of.

‘He understands my characteristics,’ he continued. ‘The way to play with short passes when we need short passes and long balls when we need long balls.

‘We are working hard, everyone in the same direction. It is coming together at the right moment. What we achieve this season is a consequence of how we move forward.’

Potter labels Blues ‘Europe’s in-form team’

Graham Potter believes Chelsea are the most in-form team in Europe right now and the Englishman has hailed Thomas Tuchel’s effort.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Brighton manager praised our German boss for what he has achieved in such a short period.

‘We are playing against a team that’s in as good a moment as anybody in probably European football,’ he said.

‘And I think that is credit to Thomas Tuchel, the players and the staff because they got into the Champions League last four and then to beat Manchester City is not easy.’

The Blues are still fighting to get into the top four and the results around them have gone in our favour after West Ham lost to Newcastle and Liverpool drew against Leeds last night.

‘They have been on a fantastic run of results,’ he continued.

‘That time has meant the players that they invested in over the summer have settled into the club and the Premier League and they’re getting the benefits now.’
