Chelsea linked with Kamara bid

Chelsea have received a huge boost to our chances of signing Boubacar Kamara after the midfielder announced he wants to leave Marseille after 16 years at the club.

As reported on RMC Sport, the 21-year-old revealed his desire to find a new challenge in his career which could potentially open an opportunity for the Blues.

‘I’d like to finish the season, there are five games left,’ he said. ‘Then I can relax and think about what is next. I’ve been a professional for four years and I’ve lived through everything here.

‘I’ve never felt this desire to leave, but I think I’m ready to go pretty much anywhere with what I’ve lived at Marseille.’

According to French journalist Romain Canuti, Kamara is a player Thomas Tuchel likes a lot and has reportedly kept tabs on him since he was the Paris Saint-Germain boss.

‘From the information we have, there’s Chelsea who could position themselves next summer,’ he said. ‘Kamara is a profile that Tuchel likes a lot.

‘He has kept his name in the corner of his brain. He could come back. There have been discussions about it.’

Sir Alex Ferguson is impressed by Gilmour

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he enjoys watching Blues midfielder Billy Gilmour and he has been impressed with how the Scot has started his career.

Speaking on a EURO 2020 show for the Scotland national team, the former Manchester United boss spoke about the teenage talent who could have a big impact on their national team.

‘He’s another one that’s emerging,’ Sir Alex said about the youngster. ‘I saw him play for Chelsea towards the start of the season and he did well.’

The 19-year-old has made 10 appearances for the Blues this season after making his breakthrough in the first team in the previous Premier League campaign.

‘He got an injury that held him back a bit, but he is an emerging player there’s no doubt about that,’ the treble-winning manager continued. ‘It’s good to see players like him coming through and the quality of players in England.

‘We are blessed with some good young players coming through.’

Shearer praises Gallagher’s debut Premier League season

Alan Shearer has praised Conor Gallagher for his breakthrough season in the Premier League and tips the Englishman to give Thomas Tuchel plenty of headaches in the future.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, the former Newcastle United and England striker labelled Gallagher one of the most improved players in the Premier League this season.

‘This young man has caught the eye with a number of performances for West Bromwich Albion,’ Shearer said. ‘An exciting midfield prospect, Gallagher is the Baggies’ leading ball winner, and he also has a decent cross on him.

‘He whipped in a wicked ball for Mbaye Diagne against Manchester United and also got an assist for Kyle Bartley as his side got a win against Brighton.’

Last season, Gallagher was on loan in the Championship with both Charlton Athletic and Swansea City. He scored six goals and picked up 11 assists in 45 Championship matches.

The Cobham graduate only turned 21 in February and has made a huge impact under Sam Allardyce.

‘I think the young man is having a positive season at West Brom,’ Shearer continued. ‘If he can do it week in week out is another matter.

‘He will certainly give Thomas Tuchel a headache in the summer.’
