Chelsea keen on Varane

Chelsea have received a positive boost in their reported chase of Raphael Varane.

According to Mundo Deportivo, there is a high possibility that the Frenchman will leave Real Madrid this summer and the Premier League could be his next destination.

The Blues have reportedly been admirers of Varane and may have the chance to bring the experienced centre-back to Stamford Bridge. Defensively, the Blues have been superb recently, keeping 10 clean sheets in our last 13 games.

The report also states that Madrid might need to sell to raise money to fund their other objectives, like their renovations at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and the signing of transfer target Kylian Mbappe.

The Spanish giants are looking to get £61 million for the 28-year-old and Chelsea will have to fight off interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

Varane has won 19 major trophies in Spain. He has won the Champions League four times, four La Liga titles and is also a World Cup champion with France.

Hazard reacts to potential Blues reunion

Eden Hazard has shown his excitement to return from injury on social media. The former Chelsea winger also could potentially face us in the semi-final of the Champions League against Real Madrid tomorrow night.

The Belgian took to Instagram to confirm his inclusion in the Spanish giants' matchday squad for the first time since the middle of March, as reported by football.london.

‘Back,’ the 30-year-old said on Instagram as he went on to make a 13-minute appearance in a 0-0 draw against Real Betis. In that game, he created more chances than any other Madrid player on the pitch.

Madrid have drawn three of their last four La Liga matches and sit second in the league. Zinedine Zidane will be hoping Hazard’s return will push them to defend their league title.

Facing the Blues and a potential return to Stamford Bridge for the second leg will be a dream come true for the winger after leaving two seasons ago.

‘Chelsea and especially Chelsea fans will always be special to me,’ he said back in 2019. ‘Next season, I will look for your results first.

‘I hope we are drawn against each other in the Champions League every season so we can meet again.’

Zola praises Pulisic

Gianfranco Zola has labelled Christian Pulisic as one of the difference-makers in the Chelsea squad.

Speaking on Sky Sports, the former Blues forward also praised the American for the progress he has shown since arriving from Borussia Dortmund.

‘I think Pulisic in the last year has been exceptional for the club,’ Zola said. ‘He has made such a difference.’

The 22-year-old has recently had a run of games under Thomas Tuchel and is starting to show what role he can play as a dual number 10.

Alongside his impressive Champions League performances, Pulisic has scored three goals in his last four Premier League appearances.

‘He has the ability and the pace to be one of those players that can make a difference between drawing and winning,’ the Italian added.

‘I’m very glad for him. Physically, he looks fit now and he’s a big asset for Chelsea.
