In our look at the latest Chelsea-related news stories from the media, the Blues are reportedly interested in Robin Gosens and Jurgen Klinsmann backs Timo Werner to continue scoring.

These stories are samples pulled from external media sources. They do not represent the views or position of Chelsea Football Club.

Chelsea interested in Gosens

The Blues have been linked with German left-back Robin Gosens.

According to Caught Offside, Chelsea are keen on adding another left-back to increase the competition in that position.

Gosens has been impressive in Serie A under Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini. The German has appeared 38 times in all competitions for the Italian side.

The 26-year-old can be deployed as a left-back or a left midfielder and his goal contributions prove he has a lot to provide going forward. So far this season, he has scored 10 times and picked up eight assists.

Gosens’ other qualities are also being strong in the air and being a threat from set-pieces.

The Blues will have to fight off interest from Manchester United and Leicester City if we are interested in adding the German international to Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

Klinsmann backs Werner

German legend Jurgen Klinsmann believes we haven’t seen the best of Timo Werner yet and backs the German to continue to score important goals for the Blues.

Speaking on ESPN FC, the World Cup winner spoke about Werner’s qualities and what makes him a special piece to this Chelsea team.

‘I have total trust in him because he knows where to be in the right time,’ Klinsmann said. ‘The kid is good. He has a tremendous amount of drive and talent and he knows where the ball will fall in the box.

‘He can also make things happen himself with his speed and going at people, so I have trust in Werner.’

In his debut season, the German attacker has found different ways to help his team and for the first time in his career, he has picked more assists than goals.

So far this season, the former RB Leipzig man has picked 12 assists in all competition and has scored 11 goals.

‘This kid is good and will prove it,’ he added. ‘Obviously, he has to deal with the criticism when you miss a big chance, it’s just normal.

‘But I hope he gets plenty of opportunities going forward.’

Parker praises Tuchel

Fulham manager Scott Parker has praised Thomas Tuchel’s work since he arrived in England.

The former Chelsea midfielder spoke to Sky Sports before our Premier League clash with his Fulham side on Saturday.

‘He has done a fantastic job there,’ Parker said. ‘He’s gone in and got results and sustained their results.

‘They’re a really good side, I think we saw that earlier in the season under Frank Lampard.’

Tuchel has the opportunity to win two trophies in his first season with the Blues after reaching the FA Cup final and are one game from the Champions League final after our draw away from home against Real Madrid. We are also three points clear of West Ham in the top four.

‘They’re a good team with quality players and as a coach,’ he added. ‘Thomas has been in and around the clubs and been at the top end of competitions so you can add that quality as well.’
