Blues interested in Rabiot

Chelsea have been linked with Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

According to Calciomercato, the Frenchman is tipped to leave Juventus this summer after the Italian giants failed to win the league for the first time since the 2010/11 season.

The left-footed midfielder has appeared 42 times in all competitions for Andrea Pirlo’s side and scored three goals and picked up three assists.

The report states that Juventus would be willing to let Rabiot leave this summer for £17 million. Thomas Tuchel has previously worked with the 26-year-old for a year at Paris Saint-Germain.

Rabiot would join fellow French internationals Kurt Zouma, N’Golo Kante and Olivier Giroud, who is ranked second on the France all-time leading goalscorer chart, in the Chelsea squad.

If the Blues’ interest is true, we’ll have to fight off other potential suitors like Barcelona who have reportedly been in contact with the agent of the former Paris Saint-Germain man.

Pundits praise Havertz

Former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole was left impressed by Kai Havertz’s brace against Fulham on Saturday.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Cole expressed his joy for the 21-year-old who is in his debut season in the Premier League.

‘He was fantastic,’ the 2011/12 Champions League winner said. ‘He didn’t get involved in the build-up but his little through balls and deft touches and control around the box.

‘I think he deserved his two goals.’

Former Fulham manager Chris Coleman also praised the German’s performance and believes Havertz will be an important player in the future.

‘I was very impressed with him,’ he said. ‘His intelligence, knowing where to run, and then when the ball arrives, he’s not flustered. All the top players have that.

‘He is still young and is going to be better and better.’

The Blues now prepare for a tough week which will see us face Real Madrid in the second leg of our Champions League semi-final and Manchester City on the weekend.

Pogba names Kante his toughest opponent

Paul Pogba has revealed N’Golo Kante is one of the toughest players he has faced so far in his career.

Speaking in a Q&A, which was also reported in the Daily Mail, the Manchester United midfielder named the French star and Brazilian international Casemiro as the best players he has faced.

‘My toughest opponent on the pitch?’ Pogba said. ‘To be honest, it’s tough against Kante.

‘Casemiro too, he is a hard one also. I can’t remember all of them but they’re the first ones that come into mind that I had.’

The two midfielders won the World Cup in 2018 for France playing alongside each other and have a good relationship.

Kante has scored twice past Manchester United, first in an impressive 4-0 win and he netted the winner in the FA Cup quarter-final in the 2016/17 season.
