Chelsea Women take on Tottenham Hotspur in our penultimate game of the Barclays FA Women Super League campaign this evening and Niamh Charles says the Blues are determined to continue the momentum after our Champions League semi-final triumph.

Emma Hayes’ side go into tonight’s game against Tottenham hoping to restore our two-point lead at the top of the WSL standings.Fellow title contenders Manchester City leapfrogged the Blues into top spot at the weekend following their win over Birmingham, but Charles is confident Chelsea can produce a match-winning performance and secure a much-needed three points. She said: ‘We’ve always had that belief and confidence that we were good to compete at that level and win.‘We see day in and day out what this team is capable of so it’s a case of taking it into Spurs, keeping our levels exactly the same and producing another good performance.‘It’s a quick turnaround but we want to be fighting on all fronts and we are very aware of the quick turnarounds that come with that.‘Tottenham is now the most important game and we park the job that we did on Sunday, and now there’s another job to do.’

Chelsea have come out on top in both clashes against Spurs this season, with the Blues earning a 4-0 win in the reverse fixture back in January but Charles is expecting the north London side to provide a stern test at the Hive Stadium this evening. She added: ‘At this stage of the season, every team is wanting to finish the season strong so we won’t be underestimating them.‘They are going to be a tough test and that’s credit to the WSL. Every game is hard but we’ll be going into it as we do every game and trying to win.’Tonight’s game kicks-off at 5.30pm and is available to watch live on BT Sport.
