Blues eyeing Sancho

Chelsea have received a huge transfer boost in their reported interest for winger Jadon Sancho.

According to Goal, Borussia Dortmund are set to lower the England international’s transfer fee this summer.

The German side’s sporting director Michael Zorc previously labelled the former Manchester City forward as untouchable as clubs like the Blues have continued to show interest.

However, speaking in an interview, Zorc revealed a ‘gentlemen’s agreement’ that could see the winger leave if the right conditions are met.

‘We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Sancho last year that he can switch under certain conditions,’ he said.

‘He has been with us for a few years. But there is no such agreement with Haaland.’

Sancho’s transfer fee has dropped to £70 million which would see several clubs around England like Liverpool or Manchester United challenge the Blues in their pursuit for the winger.

Cole praises Kante

Andy Cole has praised N’Golo Kante for his performances in both legs of our Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid.

Speaking on Optus Sport, the former Manchester United forward believes the Frenchman was Man of the Match in both legs after being very influential in Spain and at Stamford Bridge.

‘He’s a joke,’ he stated. ‘Watching Chelsea last night, both goals have come from him breaking play up and slipping someone in.

‘People didn’t think he could do that, but I think he’s proven he can do all that now. He’s in the right position because he’s cute enough to be in the right position.’

Kante proved what he can offer defensively and in attack against the Spanish giants in another big European performance for the midfielder who is finishing the season strong.

‘He just wants to play football and do the best he can for his team,’ Cole added.

‘He didn’t even celebrate the first goal and he set it up. You’ve gone 1-0 up in the Champions League semi-final and he’s not even celebrating.’

Wright makes Werner prediction

Ian Wright believes Timo Werner will become even more dangerous for Chelsea next season as he further adapts to the Premier League.

Speaking on The Kelly and Wrighty Show, the former Arsenal striker praised the German for how hard he works for everyone in the team.

‘Next season might be different for him,’ he said. ‘We saw at Leipzig, he scored 29 goals in one season, so he can do it and go on that kind of run.

‘He is still trying to do the right things. We’ve seen it before with strikers just missing chances and the confidence goes. You have to still get into the right position and he is.’

Werner scored the opener at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night to put the Blues in a good position to advance to the Champions League final.

‘You see what he does for the team in terms of his pace and assists, it’s invaluable,’ Wright continued. ‘So, when he does have the goals, he is going to be unbelievable for Chelsea.

‘He hasn’t stopped creating or running and his teammates know they can rely on him because he still puts in the hard yards.’
