Thomas Tuchel has made five changes to the side which beat Real Madrid in midweek for our Premier League visit to Manchester City.

Our head coach had hinted some players would be rested after their exertions in that Champions League semi-final second leg victory and stuck to his word, including two changes to our attacking trio.

Timo Werner, scorer of our opener against Real, is the only player to retain his place from that European tie at the Bridge. Joining him in attack at the Etihad Stadium will be Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech, who come in for Mason Mount and Kai Havertz.

With Mateo Kovacic still missing through injury, N’Golo Kante continues in midfield, but is joined by Billy Gilmour, who comes in for Jorginho.

Thiago Silva is rested, with skipper Cesar Azpilicueta looking set to drop into the back three alongside Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, with Edouard Mendy continuing in goal.

Reece James comes into the side to take the right wing-back spot vacated by Azpilicueta, while on the opposite flank Marcos Alonso replaces Ben Chilwell for the other change.

Teenage Academy wing-back Tino Livramento could be in line to make his senior debut after being named among the Chelsea substitutes for the first time.

Manchester City make nine changes from their own Champions League semi-final win on Tuesday, with only goalkeeper Ederson and centre-back Ruben Dias keeping their place, and look likely to change formation to match our back three.
