Blues linked to Brazilian midfielder
Chelsea are reportedly interested in Palmeiras midfielder Patrick de Paula.
According to Sports Witness, the Blues are one of the clubs that have been keeping an eye on the 21-year-old as he continues to impress in South America.
The Brazilian came up from the Palmeiras youth ranks and made his first-team debut last year, quickly becoming an important player for the club.
De Paula has appeared 56 times for the Brazilian giants and has scored six goals already at the club. The midfielder has also been deployed as a number 10 when not playing in his natural holding midfielder position.
If the Blues are interested in the Brazilian, they will have to compete with Borussia Dortmund and Champions League final opponents Manchester City.
The report also states that Palmeiras are looking to let their star go for a fee of around £25 million this summer.
Cole praises Blues trio
Joe Cole has revealed the three Chelsea players who have impressed him the most this season.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, the former England international believes Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic are the future of our club.
‘So many of today’s side are excellent but Mount, Pulisic and Havertz have impressed me,’ he said. ‘I think they are very talented.
‘They are the new generation. They can hold their own at the highest level despite being so young. They are making their own journeys and destinies in the game.’
The Blues now prepare for three important games over the next two weeks and stand a chance to become the champions of Europe again.
‘Football has evolved at such a rapid rate in terms of the way that teams play,’ Cole continued. ‘So it’s tough to compare eras but I love this new team.
‘I think they’ll win plenty of silverware. Hopefully this year.’
Pogba labels Kante as most loved player
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba believes N’Golo Kante is one of the most loved players in world football.
Speaking to beIN Sports, the Frenchman declared his love for the Blues midfielder who can add a Champions League winner’s medal to his long list of achievements.
‘He’s the most beloved player in the history of football,’ Pogba said. ‘You’ve got to love him, you cannot hate him, it’s not possible.
‘He is humble, kind and professional. He will never complain, and he will work.’
Kante has excelled under Thomas Tuchel and has been influential in big games in the Champions League with his defending and his ball carrying. His France team-mate also believes he has all the tools technically.
‘He has everything,’ Pogba added. ‘He’s good technically with good passing quality and he is everywhere on the pitch. I even say he appears out of the ground.
‘You don’t see him, and – poof – he’s out! He gets the ball, he has the finish. He’s everywhere. To have a player like that by your side, what more can you ask for?’
