Every attempt was made by the club to get fans back to our final game of the season, but unfortunately with the late confirmation of the rescheduled fixture, there was not sufficient time for the club to go through the extensive planning required with a diverse group of organisations which includes the local authority and the emergency services. The men’s fixture against Leicester last Saturday was identified by the Premier League well in advance of the announcement which allowed for extensive planning take place. We look forward to welcoming fans back to the stadium next season.

The form

Chelsea Women return to Kingsmeadow following their 4-0 defeat to Barcelona in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final held in Gothenburg. The Blues came up short as a four goal-burst in the first half did the damage and secured the trophy for Barcelona. While disappointed with the result, the achievement of reaching our first final should not be forgotten, having previously come up short twice at the semi-final stage. We’ve also won back-to-back Barclays Women’s Super League titles, our fourth WSL win to date and also a second Continental League Cup and Community Shield win this season.

The Blues head into the FA Cup fifth round tie having previously beaten London City Lionesses at home 5-0 in April. Goals from Niamh Charles, Jess Carter, Melanie Leupolz and a brace from Drew Spence got our FA Cup campaign up and running. The match also saw Hayes awarding Chelsea youngsters Aggie Beever-Jones and Jorja Fox their first starts for the club, while Charlotte Wardlaw also came into the side for her third appearance for the Blues.

Chelsea Women vs Everton recent head-to-head record

Chelsea’s last encounter with Everton came back in March when the Blues beat Everton 0-3 at Walton Hall Park with goals from Fran Kirby, Pernille Harder and Melanie Leupolz helping them to secure a convincing away victory in the WSL.

Prior to this, Chelsea Women faced Everton at home back in November with a 4-0 win.

Next up for the Blues

This is the final match inwhat’s been a phenomenal season. We’ve missed the fans and can’t wait to welcome you all back at Kingsmeadow later this summer.
