In our round-up of the action involving the Blues players on loan over the last week. the Serie A top-four face came to a thrilling conclusion, as did the Ligue 1 relegation battle, while the Championship play-offs reach the final.

In a dramatic final day of the season in Italy, Fikayo Tomori helped AC Milan keep a crucial clean sheet as they secured Champions League qualification and second place in the Serie A table. They went into the last game in third, away at second-placed Atalanta, but a strong defensive performance and two penalties allowed Milan to leapfrog their opponents with a 2-0 win.

However, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Napoli were unable to join them in next season’s Champions League as they could only manage a 1-1 draw away at Hellas Verona, allowing Juventus to overtake them on the last day, and had to settle for fifth place and the Europa League.

It was a more relaxed finish for Davide Zappacosta, having already helped Genoa secure a mid-table spot, and they ended their campaign on a high with a 1-0 win over Cagliari.

Trevoh Chalobah scored his second goal in France as Lorient secured their top-flight status on the final day of the Ligue 1 season. They travelled to fellow relegation candidates Strasbourg knowing they needed to at least match the results of their other rivals Brest and Nantes to avoid having to compete in the relegation play-off.

They went behind in the first half to leave them facing the drop, but Trevoh Chalobah scored a fine second-half equaliser, placing into the bottom corner with his left foot after a clever set piece. That earned Lorient a 1-1 draw which, combined with Brest and Nantes’ eventual defeats, ensured the Brittany side finished their campaign two points clear of the drop.

Marc Guehi helped Swansea City reach the Championship play-off final as a strong defensive performance over two legs saw them past Barnsley in the semis. Guehi played a big part in the Swans’ clean sheet during a 1-0 win in the away game, before withstanding some late pressure as they drew 1-1 at home. They now face Brentford in the final on Saturday.

Danilo Pantic’s first goal of the season proved to be the winner as Cukaricki defeated Radnik Sudurlica 2-1, a result which secured them third place in the Serbian SuperLiga table and a spot in the Europa Conference League.

Matt Miazga and Anderlecht had to settle for fourth place in the Belgian title play-offs and their own spot in the Europa Conference League. They had given themselves a chance of Europa League qualification with a 3-3 draw against champions Club Brugge, after coming from behind three times in the game, meaning another point on the last day at Royal Antwerp would be enough for third.

However, Miazga was shown a red card after 13 minutes for bringing down striker Lamkel Ze when the last man, and the American’s team went on to lose 1-0 with 10 men.

Conor Gallagher ended his difficult season at relegated West Bromwich Albion with back-to-back 3-1 defeats, at home to West Ham United and away at Leeds United. Ruben Loftus-Cheek came off the bench twice as Fulham brought the curtain down on their own Premier League season with a 1-1 draw at Manchester United and a 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle United.
