Ethan Ampadu played the first half in Cardiff as Wales were held to a goalless draw by Albania in their final warm-up match before the start of the European Championships.

The 20-year-old was deployed on the right side of a back three by Wales caretaker manager Robert Page, taking one knock during what was a very uneventful opening to the game.

Ampadu was withdrawn at the break and Wales improved after it having switched to a 4-2-3-1 shape, but it still took them until the 73rd minute to register their first shot on target.

They begin their Euro 2020 campaign against Switzerland in Baku next Saturday.

Both Thiago Silva and Edouard Mendy were not involved for Brazil and Senegal as they beat Ecuador and Zambia respectively, although our keeper did receive a real hero's welcome upon his arrival in Dakar earlier this week. They play Cape Verde on Tuesday, while Brazil have another World Cup qualifier to look forward to, against Paraguay on Wednesday.

At Under-18 level, Bryan Fiabema played the full game for Norway who were beaten 2-1 by Portugal in Lisbon. Portugal scored twice early on before the young Norwegians got a goal back before the break. Despite creating plenty of second-half chances they could not muster an equaliser.

The teams meet again on Tuesday.
