Olivier Giroud came off the bench to net a brace as France comfortably defeated Bulgaria in their final warm-up game ahead of Euro 2020.

The Chelsea striker came on for Karim Benzema in the first half and scored twice late on to secure a 3-0 win over the Bulgarians in Paris. Antoine Griezmann had earlier opened the scoring for Les Bleus.

The brace sees Giroud move to within five goals of drawing level with Thierry Henry as France’s all-time leading scorer.

N’Golo Kante started the game for Didier Deschamps’s side in midfield, before being withdrawn after 65 minutes, while his Chelsea team-mate Kurt Zouma was an unused substitute.

France kick-off their Euro 2020 campaign on Tuesday when they face Germany in Munich.

Elsewhere, Hakim Ziyech played a major role as Morocco defeated Ghana 1-0 in an international friendly.

The Chelsea winger came off the bench and delivered a dangerous free-kick that wasn’t dealt with by the Ghana goalkeeper and led to the only goal of the game.

Elsewhere in Africa, Edouard Mendy kept a clean sheet as Senegal defeated Cape Verde 2-0 in a friendly in Thies. Idrissa Gueye and Sadio Mane were the second-half goalscorers.

Cesar Azpilicueta didn’t feature for Spain as they defeated Lithuania 4-0 earlier on Tuesday, with the Spanish squad made up mainly of Under-21 players due to the named squad for Euro 2020 currently quarantining after Sergio Busquets tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday morning.
