Blues pursuing Haaland

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland this summer.

According to an article in subscription-based the Telegraph, the Blues are very keen on bringing the 20-year-old to Stamford Bridge.

The German side’s qualification for the Champions League next season has helped a lot in their efforts to keep the striker but it is believed that Chelsea are working behind the scenes to get a deal done, according to reports.

Haaland had another phenomenal season as he continues to establish himself as one of the best goalscorers in Europe and has impressed plenty of big clubs.

The former RB Salzburg attacker scored 41 times in 41 games while also picking up 12 assists in the campaign just gone.

Haaland is seen as one of the most sought-after players in the world and, according to The Telegraph, the Blues will have to fight off interest from Manchester City, Liverpool and Barcelona to sign him.

Pogba hails Kante

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba believes N’Golo Kante should be in the conversation as a potential winner of the Ballon d’Or this year.

Speaking to Eurosport, Pogba praised his French team-mate after a series of impressive performances in high-stake games.

‘What I would like to say to the world is that the Kante we have seen in recent months has always been the same,’ he said. ‘We talk a lot about his performances, but he has always been good as ever.

‘There was no Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the semi-final of the Champions League so it’s good to see the performances of the midfielders or even the defenders.’

Pogba thinks that after our Champions League triumph Kante needs to be presented with the biggest individual award in football.

‘I said a long time ago that it would be appropriate,’ he continued. ‘If Chelsea won the Champions League, for him to win the Ballon d’Or.

‘It would be deserved too. He’s always performed well. I’m not surprised at what he is doing, I’m just surprised he is still doing it.’
