In our look at the latest Chelsea-related news stories from the media, Cesc Fabregas has lauded reported Blues target Aurelien Tchouameni while Didier Deschamps labels N’Golo Kante as the world’s best.

Fabregas loves reported Chelsea target

Former Blues midfielder Cesc Fabregas has given his verdict on rumoured Chelsea target Aurelien Tchouameni.

During a Q&A on Twitter, the Spaniard revealed his thoughts on his Monaco midfield counterpart, after being flooded with questions by Chelsea fans.

‘He has the potential to be the complete midfielder,’ Fabregas said. ‘He is a modern midfield player.’

Tchouameni has been one of the standout players in Ligue 1 this season thanks to his impressive performances with Monaco.

Reports state that Thomas Tuchel has been impressed by the Frenchman since his days in charge of Paris Saint-Germain.

Tchouameni appeared 42 times for Monaco in the season just gone, scoring three goals and providing four assists.

France boss lauds Kante

France head coach Didier Deschamps has praised Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante for his performances for both club and country.

Speaking to the media, the former Chelsea midfielder labelled Kante as one of the first names on the team sheet ahead of France’s opener against Germany.

‘The midfielder works in the shadows,’ Deschamps said. ‘He is not given media attention. ‘From time to time, lights get shown on them, that’s the case for Kante now.’

The 30-year-old will be looking to add another trophy after winning the Champions League, Europa League and World Cup.

‘He is above all the players his team-mates pick for their teams in training,’ the head coach revealed.

‘And he is the first name that a coach, a national team manager notes down when he is starting eleven.’

Havertz to be key for Germany

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann is backing Kai Havertz to be key to any success Germany may have at Euro 2020.

Speaking to 101 Great Goals, the German believes Joachim Low will trust the 22-year-old to be among the goals

‘I would go with Havertz,’ Hamann said, when talking about who to start in attack. ‘I think he is a brilliant player. When he was 17 years old, he kept Bayer Leverkusen up with the deciding goal.’

Havertz will be looking to continue his impact in big games after his Champions League-winning goal against Manchester City in May.

‘He’s a great passer of the ball,’ Hamann continued. ‘He makes good decisions, he is two-footed, and he is a great finisher.

‘He will be Germany’s main player in this tournament and the next two or three competitions.'
