Andreas Christensen was part of the Denmark side beaten by Belgium in Copenhagen, leaving the Danes on the brink of elimination from Euro 2020.

The Danes were playing their first game since Christian Eriksen’s cardiac arrest last week and started the match brightly, opening the scoring after just two minutes through Yussuf Poulsen.

However Belgium hit back to take all three points with both goals scored by former Chelsea players. Thorgan Hazard levelled the scores just before the hour mark, before Kevin De Bruyne opened his account for the tournament by netting the eventual winner with 20 minutes to play.

Christensen featured for the whole game at the heart of the Danish defence, while Michy Batshuayi was an unused substitute for the Red Devils of Belgium.

The win sees Roberto Martinez’s side safely through to the knockout round, while Denmark know that they will have to win their final Group B game against Russia on Monday to qualify.

Belgium take on Finland in their final group game, which will also be played on Monday evening.
