Nathan Baxter will spend the 2021/22 season on loan in the Championship with Hull City.

The goalkeeper has enjoyed a steady rise through the football pyramid since his first loan at the age of 17 to Ryman Premier Division side Metropolitan Police. His most recent campaign was at Accrington Stanley in League One, where he made 19 appearances last term. Earlier in the season, he was on the bench for our Carabao Cup win against Barnsley.

The Chelsea Academy graduate has racked up over 150 senior games over the past five years following a successful journey through the ranks at Cobham, which saw him win both the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League.

An agile shot-stopper with impressive reflexes, Baxter has often come in for individual praise during his loan spells, winning the Player of the Year award at both Yeovil Town and Woking.

Despite suffering a shoulder injury just weeks after a move to the Scottish Premiership in 2019/20, he then played 14 consecutive matches for Ross County before the season was curtailed in May due to the coronavirus pandemic.

At Accrington, he was an important part of an unexpected push for the play-offs before the Lancashire side fell away in the final weeks of the season.

The 22-year-old will now get his first taste of experience in England’s second tier, linking up with Grant McCann’s side following their promotion as League One champions.
