Emotions flowed freely at Wembley Stadium last night as the biggest crowd in England since the pandemic began cheered their national team through to their first ever European Championship finals.

If the 2-1 win over Denmark was not already enough, Mason Mount ensured one young England supporter will never forget the day when he went into the crowd to present her with the shirt he had worn during the game.As can be seen in the video below, the Chelsea Player of the Year’s gift certainly made an impression!

By starting the game, Mount became the first Chelsea player ever to appear for England in a major tournament semi-final and he produced a performance to match that achievement, with the highest number of key passes by anyone in the game and the most crosses, as well as a typical diligent display when England were not in possession.

Now the 22-year-old has the opportunity to add a Euros winners’ medal to his Champions League one when he takes on club team-mates Jorginho and Emerson and the rest of the Italy side on Sunday.
