The accolades keep on coming for Jorginho, after the Chelsea midfielder was named in the UEFA Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament.

The Italian played a key role as his nation went all the way, winning the European Championship following a penalty shootout victory over England at Wembley on Sunday.

The team is chosen by a number of UEFA’s technical observers and they recognised the consistently impressive performances of our No.5 and selected him as the heartbeat of the Team of the Tournament side.

Jorginho is partnered in a midfield three by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg of Denmark and Spain’s Pedri, while former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukuku spearheads the attack.

Jorginho’s international team-mates Gianluigi Donnarumma, Leo Bonucci and Leonard Spinazzola are selected in goal and defence, while Federico Chiesa is part of the attack. There is no place for Chelsea defender Emerson, despite his strong performance in the final.

England trio of Kyle Walker, Harry Maguire and Raheem Sterling make up the remainder of the side, which is shown below in full.

Team of the Tournament (4-3-3): Donnarumma (Italy); Walker (England), Bonucci (Italy), Maguire (England), Spinazzola (Italy); Jorginho (Italy), Hojbjerg (Denmark), Pedri (Spain); Chiesa (Italy), Lukaku (Belgium), Sterling (England).
